Maintenance modeling and cost assessment for repaired reinforced concrete structures exposed to chloride attack in coastal areas in Vietnam

Abstract One of the primary causes that can reduce lifespan concrete structures is chloride-induced corrosion reinforcing steel. Recent research has shown material properties, exposure conditions and climatic have a significant influence on structural deterioration reinforced (RC) structures, especially in marine environments. The objective this paper to predict durability RC damaged by near-shore environments Vietnam, considering regular repair activities. A two-dimensional model chloride penetration square cross-section columns repaired cover replacement techniques studied. Two methods with different shapes (orthogonal circular) are considered. effects life span investigated case studies Vietnam consider variations annual temperature humidity three coastal areas such as Danang, Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City.
